You see, yesterday I started a new campaign as the Shimazu, and sent all of my starting forces to capture the 2 Ito provinces nearby. The Ito didnt stand a chance. After embracing Christianity,i took control over ALL trade posts in the Seas of Japan, and Instead of going on the offensive,I allied with the Shoni and the Sagara. I kept building up my economy and mastering The Way of Chi. Until finally I had 16000 Koku in my treasury with a 1900 Koku income per turn on Normal tax rate and 3300 Koku Income on V.High. I had a Full Stack army comprising of highly trained Samurai,Four units of those combat ninjas,6 matchlock ashigaru and 3 european cannons with a 15 stack army nearby comprising of mainly Yari Ashigaru, Bow Ashigaru and maybe some samurai. If you take a defensive temperament at the start as Shimazu after you conquer the Ito,and take control of all trade posts,it will be highly profitable. Now I plan to take Kyoto with all the armies I've assembled.
NOTE: All my cities have been fully developed (the level Fortress was reached only in my capital and another province)
Update: Conquered Kyoto,Became Shogun, Captured the Black Ship, Most of Japan's Clans declare war on me, Happy Ending.
