Solutrians
White snow covers all
A snowball our Earth has become
Further south it slowly melts
As a new creature rises amidst the cries of many
Taking kingship as is their due
They form what we begin to call
The last stages of the great ice age.
Those two legged mammals sprawl across
The snow ball shaped planet of Earth
Their gleaming eyes full of wonder and knowledge
They have come to claim their spot
As kings of this beautiful planet of ours.
Spanning hundreds of miles in length
They cross the mighty ocean that sits in between
The two identical continents of today
Of which we label them as North America and Europe.
Those ancient wary explorers
With their stone age tools and spears
Crossed the mighty ocean in a boat
As a land bridge opened between the two
Seals were a delicacy of the day
That was what they were looking for.
Yet they strayed off the beaten path
That thin line of survival
That all walk on this Earth
Has a deadly cliff on both sides
With gaping maws and full of evil.
Upon reaching land once again
The travelers began an argument of fate
The choice was not up to them
As they were swept up by a band of lost exiles
Both very far from they homeland.
Survival of the fittest
Is what nature is all about
An adhering factor
Which will always survive
As long as nature exists within us
So they travel on in the ocean
Their prey awaits patiently
As they make weapons of their own
Their hands the tools of knowledge
What wondrous creatures have they come from
To fashion such weapons as to kill
From miles out if at all feasible.
Their home they left behind
To start anew in a simpler land
New roots they will establish
As they tend to do as humans
Rulers among themselves
Their world is their jeweled oyster
For which they have labeled as their own.
