Yari Cavalry.
I can use them along side anything. And I can make armies made out of Katana Samurai and Yari cav that are unstopable, as long as I have at least 4 or so Yari cavs.
Because I have cavalry superiority and the enemy cavalry stands no chance (Therefore I need no Yari or Naginata units), and then I can use them to chase off archers or any stray units while my Katana Samurai charge the enemy infantry, then a quick charge from my cav into the enemy's rear and victory is mine.

I honestly do not use cav all that much, I find that they do not cater to my play style all that much. But, when I do I prefer 2 yari cav and 2 bow cav.
The yari cav support the bow cav as they assualt the enemy general. So in effect I cripple enemy morale and then use my profusion of archers (4-6) to cause a rout. Leading hopefully to minmal causualties.
