So I'm about 35 turns into a Hard Tokugawa campaign. I intended to construct a rich trading/economic Clan and thus haven't expanded any further than Imagawa's former territory.
Now as you can see I've kept everyone happy, have a ton of trade agreements but only a minimal number of Alliances so I'm not dragged into wars.
I'm waging an espionage war on the less-friendly Hojo, sabotaging buildings, assassinating leaders, capturing their agents and trying to stir up rebellions so I can swoop in and take their provinces without a formal declaration of war.
Afty, you should really start writing Strategy articles.
You always have something compelling to say.
I really like the espionage war... I'm going to have to try it.

It seemed only natural to play a Diplomatic hand being that it is the strength of the Tokugawa. You can't get by a full game by using it though, which is a little disappointing. I'd love to see better and more complex diplomacy in the future Total War games.
