It's the only clan so far that I can successfully have a good chance when Realm Divide hits. The reason why...the year ends at 1580 so you have more time and can takes things slow when you have a solid economy. I am sure Shimazu would be a another clan worth trying out (also ends 1580)
the key is that have at least a strong navy as the A.I Chosokabe kept trying to get Hojo starting regions through land invasions and Mori trying to get Usegi regions be prepared for this.
In order to win...you must have regions Ikko Ikki capital and Oda Capital that way there is a small choke point to fight the onslaught from other clans.
Don't bother converting to Christianity with the Date, it comes late and you'll have to deal rebels if you do. I saved before i converted. it was a total disaster.
Final tip - My article puts you at war with everyone since you have to dishonor treaties to get around 4-5 regions early on the game to get the upper hand. Keep steam rolling the AI south but you have to stop after around 8-10 regions and focus a little on your economy and defense at the borders near your enemies/potential enemies at your border regions.
Its better to war with anyone close to you on VH, you can't rely on friendship through trade and its not a good idea for you to fuel their economy as well let them invest more troop numbers like you and put the AI on edge for their weaker regions. Make sure you HAVE to win key battles and as much as possible fight by being the defender in siege battles.
