Hello fellow warlords
There have been four videos released across the internet by German games magazine Gamestar which provide an insight into the different aspects of Shogun 2. Though there is no in game sound, and you can't read any of the tooltips they're still interesting to watch. You'll notice that they're marked as 'pre-beta' by a little tag in the bottom left hand corner.
The first video shows a little of a campaign as the Chosokabe, including the beautiful campaign map, seasons, agents, diplomacy and a glimpse of the tech tree.
This second video shows several land battles that the Chosokabe are involved in. You can see some nice weather effects in here, plus some really interesting battlefields with bridges and other strategic points. It appears that some of the Chosokabe infantry have deployed palisades to protect themselves too...
The Third video depicts a siege battle. To me it looks like the same castle we saw in the last video preview that CA released, but here the AI uses different tactics. In addition the same castle appears to be fought over at the end of the video only this time with no snow - an example of how the seasons change the battlemaps?
The fourth and final video is of a naval engagement which is something we have not yet seen.
So what are your impressions from these videos? I'll post mine up a little later, once I've had a look at how you feel.
