My welsh Campaign
So, I shall try to finish this AAR, and since I find it impossible to play and document every single movement, I shall document city/castle/fort battles and major land battles only, though there will be a preamble for each one to fill you in. This gives me a chance to play as well as write.
This is not at the beginning of the campaign, but the middle. The original English kingdom has been broken by the Welsh, with help from the Baron's Alliance. I trusted the Alliance, made them my ally, and surrounded their lands so they could not expand any further. But guess what? Since the original English monarchy has been deposed, the Barons have turned out to be no better than the descendants of King Edward. They have become the English, and the war I thought was won isn't. I now have to gather all my forces and prepare once more for war...
Beforehand, I have managed capture all of Southern England and the midlands, secured alliances with the Irish and the Scots, and set up a strong economy. Caernarvon and Nottingham are now citadels and are kitted out to deal with an Irish-Scot alliance against me should it happen (whatever happened to Hadrian's Wall?) and I am on my third king. Llywellyn expanded Welsh lands from Lancaster to Cornwall, and launched a successful amphibious invasion into Southern England, capturing a major English fortress. King Dafydd defeated King Edward and saw him dead on the field, then promptly tore the heart out of England by taking London and Canterbury. And the current King, whose name I forget, took the last city from England, Norwich, survived the black death and is now sharpening his sword to face the treacherous Barons.
The Welsh empire is recovering from the Black Death, but so are the barons, so the next few battles should be interesting. As the Welsh march on Oxford, the British Isles are soon to face...
TOTAL WAR.
(cheesy or what? Pics in next post.)
