This was probably the best battle I've done yet in my Long Campaign with the Julii.
The Senate asked me to capture a Rebel Settlement called Segesta to the North West of my Capital.
The Small Village had a Rebel Army of decent size close to it, and a small garrison in the actual village.
I attacked it with 980 men, in the year 268 BC.
He had 320 men in the Village and 700 on their way. I had a small disadvantage in numbers, but it would still be a good battle.
The Reinforcements arrived from the south, which was behind my troops. I sent 4 units of Hasati out including 1 Triarii and 1 Roman General.
The reinforcements had to walk through a forested area to get to the actual battleground. I hid 2 units of Hasati in each side of the forest and my Triarii and Roman General were standing in the enemy path, they were in a way the bait.
The enemy reinforcements saw them and charged, they had 3 units of Town Watch and 2 units of Hasati and 1 Captain unit of Archers.
My general quickly ran around to the back and waited, my Hasati jumped out of the sidelines and started the slaughter, I won by the long shot and moved on the Village.
I won, but only with 110 men left.
