With Total War: Shogun 2 - Fall of the Samurai just a couple of months away SEGA are beginning to kick-start their promotional campaign. Quick off the block with a new English language preview is IGN, with others like Ausgamer not far behind still writing up their impressions. While reiterating on some basic information the public has known about for a while IGN manage to go in to some deeper information about how some the new gameplay mechanics work.
Of particular note within the preview is:
Each season now consists of four turns. So that likely means 16 turns a year.
The Geisha and Shinobi (Ninja) Agents make a return.
New Agents for the Imperial and Shogunate supporting clans
A new foreign Agent called the Foreign Veteran who can improve troop production, improve troop experience gains, and even duel enemy generals on the battlefield apparently.
If certain pre-requisites are met Naval Gun Battery barrages can be ordered in from off-map in real-time battles.
Diplomacy, trade and recruitment with the French, British and Americans sounds like it works roughly like how trade with the Christians did in Shogun 2.
